The Amarillo Dusters will travel to Bossier City Louisiana this weekend to face the Southwest Division Champion Bossier Battlewings in the conference semi-finals of the 2008 playoffs. This will be the second time the Dusters will have to play the Battlewings this season. The two teams played earlier in the season in Bossier City with the Dusters pulling out a 53-45 victory.

Dusters fullback and linebacker Donte Newsome shot and killed in Huntington, West Virginia
Tragedy struck the Amarillo Dusters early Saturday morning as Dusters fullback and linebacker Donte Newsome was shot and killed in his college town of Huntington, West Virginia. Huntington police have arrested Jerel Garner of Kanawha County for the murder. He has been charged with first-degree murder and his preliminary hearing is set for July 16.
